Nach einem Brand sind zwei Häuser in der Mörikestraße nicht mehr bewohnbar. Die drei Bewohner kamen bei Bekannten und Verwandten unter. Der Schaden wird auf mindestens 600.000 Euro geschätzt. Gegen 16.00 Uhr bemerkten Nachbarn, dass ein Reiheneckhaus brennt. Sie verständigten umgehend die Feuerwehr. Trotz des raschen Eingreifens der Feuerwehr brannte das Eckhaus aus. Die Flammen zogen auch das angebaute Mittelhaus in Mitleidenschaft. Gegen 18.45 Uhr war das Feuer gelöscht. Die Hausbewohner blieben bei dem Brand unverletzt. Allerdings rannte während der Löscharbeiten ein kleiner Hund in das brennende Haus. Er konnte nicht mehr gerettet werden und kam in den Flammen um. Das Polizeirevier Göppingen nahm die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache auf, die bislang nach unbekannt ist.
