Am Freitag kam es in einer Dachgeschosswohnung im Akazienweg zu einem Wohnungsbrand. Gegen 11:30 Uhr wurden die Rettungskräfte darüber informiert, dass Rauch aus der Wohnung zu sehen ist. Die Feuerwehren Backnang, Aspach und Schwäbisch Hall kamen mit insgesamt zehn Fahrzeugen und 50 Einsatzkräften vor Ort und konnten ein Übergreifen des Feuers auf andere Wohnungen verhindern. Die Dachgeschosswohnung selbst brannte nahezu vollständig aus, der entstandene Sachschaden beläuft sich ersten Schätzungen zufolge auf etwa 300.000 Euro. Ein Bewohner erlitt leichte Verletzungen. Die anderen Wohnungen des Mehrfamilienhauses sind aufgrund des Löscheinsatzes sowie des Rauches teilweise unbewohnbar. Das Polizeirevier Backnang hat die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache aufgenommen.

On Friday there was a fire in an attic apartment in Akazienweg. Around 11:30 a.m., emergency services were notified that smoke could be seen coming from the apartment. The Backnang, Aspach and Schwäbisch Hall fire brigades came on site with a total of ten vehicles and 50 emergency services and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other apartments. The attic apartment itself burned out almost completely, and according to initial estimates, the damage to property amounts to around 300,000 euros. One resident suffered minor injuries. The other apartments in the apartment building are partly uninhabitable due to the firefighting operation and the smoke. The Backnang police station has started investigating the cause of the fire.
