Waiblingen: Brand einer Lagerhalle Aalen (ots)

In der Nacht auf Mittwoch gegen 2:45 Uhr teilte ein Autofahrer der Polizei mit, dass er aus Richtung des Industriegebietes Eisental eine starke Rauchentwicklung beobachtet habe. Durch eine kurze Zeit später am Ereignisort in der Anton-Schmidt-Straße eingetroffene Streife konnte festgestellt werden, dass eine ca. 30 x 30 Meter große Lagerhalle eines Entsorgungsunternehmens in Vollbrand steht. In der Halle war nach bisherigem Kenntnisstand eine größere Menge Altpapier gelagert. Durch die große Hitzeeinwirkung wurden mehrere neben der Halle abgestellte Fahrzeuge ebenfalls beschädigt. Die umliegenden Feuerwehren sind derzeit mit einem Großaufgebot vor Ort. Ersten Schätzungen zufolge dürfte der Schaden im siebenstelligen Bereich liegen, nach aktuellem Kenntnisstand wurde niemand verletzt. Die Polizei hat die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache aufgenommen. Im Industriegebiet Eisental kommt es derzeit aufgrund der Löscharbeiten zu erheblichen Verkehrsbehinderungen. Ortskundige Verkehrsteilnehmer werden gebeten, das Gebiet weiträumig zu umfahren!
