Seit ca. 7.30 Uhr sind die Rettungsdienste und Feuerwehren wegen eines Brandes eines Mehrfamilienhauses in der Beckengasse im Großeinsatz. Die örtliche Feuerwehr Urbach wird von den Abteilungen Plüderhausen, Schorndorf, Fellbach und Welzheim unterstützt. Bereits beim Eintreffen der Rettungskräfte stand das Gebäude in Vollbrand. Das einsturzgefährdete Gebäude konnte bislang von der Feuerwehr nicht betreten werden. Der Löschangriff wird wohl ausschließlich von außen durchgeführt und dauert derzeit noch an (Stand 8.40 Uhr). Bislang geht man von zwei verletzten Bewohnern aus, die sich selbst aus dem Gebäude begeben konnten. Ob sich noch weitere Personen im Gebäude befinden, ist derzeit unklar.

Since around 7.30 a.m., the rescue services and fire brigades have been in action because of a fire in an apartment building in Beckengasse. The local fire brigade in Urbach is supported by the departments of Plüderhausen, Schorndorf, Fellbach and Welzheim. The building was already engulfed in flames when rescue workers arrived. The building, which is in danger of collapsing, has so far not been able to be entered by the fire brigade. The extinguishing attack is probably carried out exclusively from outside and is currently still ongoing (as of 8.40 a.m.). So far, it is assumed that two injured residents were able to get out of the building themselves. It is currently unclear whether there are other people in the building.
