Esslingen (ES): Brand an Wohnhaus An einem Wohnhaus im Stadtteil Berkheim ist am Freitagnachmittag aus noch ungeklärter Ursache ein Brand ausgebrochen. Gegen 16.15 Uhr ging ein entsprechender Notruf bei den Einsatzleitstellen von Feuerwehr und Polizei ein, woraufhin die Rettungskräfte in den Habertweg ausrückten. Vor Ort stellte sich heraus, dass es im Bereich einer technischen Einrichtung an der Fassade des Hauses zu einem Brand gekommen war, der sich auf Teile des Dachstuhls ausbreitete. Der Brand konnte von der Feuerwehr, die mit zahlreichen Feuerwehrleuten im Einsatz war, rasch unter Kontrolle gebracht werden, wobei die Suche nach Glutnestern und notwendige Nachlöscharbeiten im Dachstuhl derzeit (17.30 Uhr) noch andauern. Alle Hausbewohner konnten das Gebäude rechtzeitig verlassen. Verletzt wurde augenscheinlich niemand. Der entstandene Sachschaden dürfte sich ersten Schätzungen zufolge auf etwa 50.000 bis 100.000 Euro belaufen. Das Polizeirevier Esslingen hat die die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache aufgenommen. (cw)

Esslingen (ES): Fire at a residential building A fire broke out in a residential building in the Berkheim district on Friday afternoon for reasons that are still unclear. At around 4:15 p.m., a corresponding emergency call was received by the fire brigade and police operations control centers, whereupon the rescue services moved to Habertweg. On site, it turned out that a fire had broken out in the area of a technical facility on the facade of the house, which had spread to parts of the roof structure. The fire was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade, which was deployed with numerous firefighters, with the search for embers and the necessary post-extinguishing work in the roof structure currently (5:30 p.m.) still ongoing. All residents were able to leave the building in time. Apparently nobody was injured. According to initial estimates, the resulting property damage should amount to around 50,000 to 100,000 euros. The Esslingen police station has started investigating the cause of the fire. (cw)
