In der Nacht von Freitag auf Samstag ist in der Wentalhalle in Steinheim am Albuch ein Brand ausgebrochen. Das Feuer wurde gegen 04:40 Uhr der Feuerwehr und der Polizei gemeldet. Als die Einsatzkräfte an der Halle in der Jahnstraße eintrafen, stand das Gebäude bereits vollständig in Flammen. Die Feuerwehr war mit 50 Einsatzkräften und 15 Fahrzeugen im Einsatz. Jedoch konnte nicht verhindert werden, dass die Sporthalle komplett niederbrannte. Verletzt wurde bei dem Feuer niemand. Der Schaden beläuft sich nach ersten Schätzungen auf mehrere Millionen Euro. Aktuell ist die Brandursache noch völlig unklar. Spezialisten des Polizeipräsidiums Ulm haben die Ermittlungen hierzu aufgenommen.

A fire broke out in the Wentalhalle in Steinheim am Albuch during the night from Friday to Saturday. The fire was reported to the fire department and police around 04:40. When the emergency services arrived at the hall on Jahnstraße, the building was already completely on fire. The fire brigade was deployed with 50 emergency services and 15 vehicles. However, it was not possible to prevent the sports hall from burning down completely. Nobody was injured in the fire. According to initial estimates, the damage amounts to several million euros. The cause of the fire is currently still unclear. Specialists from the police headquarters in Ulm have started the investigation.
