Stuttgart-Vaihingen (ots) Aus unbekannter Ursache ist am Mittwochabend (26.01.2022) in einer Erdgeschosswohnung eines Mehrfamilienhauses an der Thingstraße ein Brand ausgebrochen. Zeugen meldeten den Brand gegen 21.20 Uhr. Als die Rettungskräfte eintrafen, drang starker Rauch aus dem Hausflur. Die Feuerwehr rettete mehrere Hausbewohner über das Treppenhaus, andere hatten sich bereits selbstständig ins Freie begeben. In der Wohnung fand die Feuerwehr eine bislang nicht identifizierte Leiche, mutmaßlich handelt es sich um die 77 Jahre alte Bewohnerin. Der Rettungsdienst versorgte die Bewohner vor Ort, die offenbar unversehrt blieben. Die Höhe des Sachschadens kann bislang noch nicht beziffert werden. Die Hausbewohner konnten gegen 23.00 Uhr in ihre Wohnungen zurückkehren. Die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache dauern an.

For an unknown reason, a fire broke out on Wednesday evening (01/26/2022) in a ground floor apartment of an apartment building on Thingstrasse. Witnesses reported the fire around 9:20 p.m. When emergency services arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the hallway. The fire brigade rescued several residents via the stairwell, others had already gone outside on their own. In the apartment, the fire department found a previously unidentified body, presumably the 77-year-old resident. The rescue service treated the residents on site, who were apparently unharmed. The extent of the property damage cannot yet be quantified. The residents of the house were able to return to their apartments around 11 p.m. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
