Polizeibeamte waren am Montag (21.08.2023) am Charlottenplatz wegen einer nicht angemeldeten Demonstration mutmaßlicher Klimaaktivisten im Einsatz. Sechs Personen betraten gegen 16.50 Uhr die Fahrbahn der Charlottenstraße auf Höhe der Einmündung Olgastraße und blockierten zunächst den Verkehr in Richtung Degerloch. Von den sechs Männern fixierten sich vier mit Klebstoff und einem Quarzsandgemisch auf der Fahrbahn. Die Personen mussten mit Hilfe der Stuttgarter Feuerwehr gelöst werden. Rund um den Charlottenplatz kam es zu Verkehrsbeeinträchtigungen. Die Charlottenstraße konnte in Richtung Degerloch gegen 18.10 Uhr für den Verkehr wieder freigegeben werden. Gegen 17.20 Uhr betraten insgesamt acht Personen kurzfristig die Heilbronner Straße auf Höhe der Presselstraße und versuchten den Verkehr zu blockieren. Nach Ansprache durch die alarmierten Polizeibeamten verließen die Personen freiwillig die Fahrbahn. Die Polizei Stuttgart war mit über 50 Beamtinnen und Beamten sowie mit Kräften der Feuerwehr im Einsatz. Die Ermittlungen zu möglichen Verstößen der betroffenen Personen dauern noch an.

Police officers were on duty on Monday (08/21/2023) at Charlottenplatz because of an unannounced demonstration by suspected climate activists. At around 4:50 p.m., six people entered the road on Charlottenstrasse at the junction with Olgastrasse and initially blocked traffic in the direction of Degerloch. Four of the six men fixed themselves to the roadway with glue and a quartz sand mixture. The people had to be released with the help of the Stuttgart fire department. There were traffic disruptions around Charlottenplatz. Charlottenstrasse was reopened to traffic in the direction of Degerloch at around 6:10 p.m. Around 5:20 p.m., a total of eight people briefly entered Heilbronner Strasse near Presselstrasse and tried to block traffic. After being spoken to by the alerted police officers, the people voluntarily left the roadway. The Stuttgart police were on duty with more than 50 officers and fire brigade forces. Investigations into possible violations by the persons concerned are still ongoing.
