Im Rahmen einer Familienfeier am Samstagabend, kurz vor Mitternacht, wurde auf dem Balkon durch die anwesenden Personen ein Deko-Ethanolofen betrieben. Beim Nachgießen von weiterem Ethanol bei noch offener Flamme kam es hierbei zu einer großen Stichflamme. Durch diese zogen sich ein 46- Jähriger und sein 41-jährigen Bruder schwere bis schwerste Brandverletzungen zu. Eine 43-jährige Frau und ihr 14-jähriger Sohn wurden durch den Brand ebenfalls verletzt. Am Balkon entstand ein geschätzter Schaden von 5.000 Euro. Am Brandort waren mehrere Polizeistreifen, Rettungswagen und die Feuerwehr im Einsatz. Einer der schwerverletzen Männer musste mit einem Rettungshubschrauber in eine Klinik geflogen werden. Die anderen Verletzten kamen mit dem Rettungswagen in ein Krankenhaus.

As part of a family celebration on Saturday evening, shortly before midnight, a decorative ethanol stove was operated on the balcony by the people present. When more ethanol was poured in while the flame was still open, a large jet of flame occurred. As a result, a 46-year-old and his 41-year-old brother suffered severe to severe burn injuries. A 43-year-old woman and her 14-year-old son were also injured in the fire. The damage to the balcony was estimated at 5,000 euros. Several police patrols, ambulances and the fire brigade were on duty at the scene of the fire. One of the seriously injured men had to be flown to a clinic in a rescue helicopter. The other injured were taken to hospital by ambulance.
